Presenters this year include:

Michael Smith, Senior Stakeholder Liaison, IRS
As a Sr. Stakeholder Liaison, he works with all taxpayer communities, including tax practitioner organizations and community groups to help all taxpayers comply with the tax laws. He became a Senior Stakeholder Liaison in the Communications and Liaison division of the IRS in 2021 following other service in the Small Business/Self-Employed division of the IRS.

 

Laurie B. Downs, JD, Senior Counsel, SB/SE Office of Chief Counsel
Ms. Downs is a Senior Counsel with the Office of Chief Counsel. Ms. Downs has tried cases before the United States Tax Court and has participated in hearings before the bankruptcy court in both the Eastern District of Michigan and the Eastern District of Wisconsin. She has been with the IRS since 2005.

 

Elida Elizondo, Social Security Administration
Elida is a Public Affairs Specialist with the Social Security Administration in Milwaukee. She has been with the SSA for over 26 years and meets with the public, professional groups and organizations discussing the range of Social Security benefits and services and changes to the program

 

Nancy L. Wilson, JDO’Neil, Cannon, Hollman, DeJong & Laing S.C., Milwaukee
Ms. Wilson is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School and also holds a Masters in Accounting from UW-Madison. She also received a L.L.M in Taxation from the University of Alabama Law School. She is a member of her firm’s Estate and Succession Planning Practice Group. She assists clients in all matters relating to estate and tax planning, succession planning, and trust administration. In addition to her legal experience, Nancy has also served as CEO for a large consumer electronics distributor and Vice President of Operations for a manufacturing company.

Deanna Weddig, Wisconsin Department of Revenue

Ms. Weddig serves as a supervisor in the Department Individual Income tax bureau.
She has been with the Department for seven years serving in a variety of auditing roles.
