FEATURED CFLCW NEWS

THE 18TH CFLCW ANNUAL MEETING

WHAT IS THE NEXT BRANCH ON THE COLLABORATIVE TREE?

At the 2016 Annual Meeting, CFLCW Members learned about the Facilitative Model for the Collaborative Process. In 2017, the topic was IACP Survey Data on how clients perceive their divorce experience.

The 2018 Annual Meeting will be devoted to the question "What Does it Mean to be a Collaborative Professional?" in light of alternative service models and client attitudes. How is the Practice different in 2018 than in it was in 2000? What will it be in 2020? What is your professional commitment to a New Collaborative? What needs to change? What needs to stay the same?

What Does It Mean to Be A Collaborative Professional?

What is the next branch on the Collaborative Tree? An interactive panel and audience participation session that addresses the early growing pains of Collaborative, lessons learned, and where the process and CFLCW may be heading. Drawing upon the client survey data presented at the 2017 Annual Meeting, and the increasing frequency of the Facilitative Model, the goal is to answer the question What is Next? The presentation panel, moderated by Karyn Youso, will feature Christy Brooks, Gaylene Stingl, Diane Diel, Josie Cusma, Cathryn Kriss, Robert Arthur, and Graham Wiemer.

The Facilitative Model - The Case of Ryan & Bernadette

The second half of the morning will feature an actual 2018 case demonstration in which the clients’ opted for the Facilitative Model. The process and scripts are derived from the case with the practitioner roles played by the trainers from the 2018 session of Building Blocks. The players are Casey Holtz, as the Facilitator, Graham Wiemer, as the attorney for Ryan MacGillis, the husband and Rebecca Oettinger as the attorney for the wife Bernadette Mullins Miller.
