Brian Hartley, JD has joined Diane Diel, SC as a Partner. Brian is a member of the CFLCW Board of Directors.

Changes coming to the online Directory at collabdivorce.com, the public website. Members will have the option of being listed as providers of specialized services such as Estate Planning, Parent Coordinator, Child and/or Family Therapy, or any number of services you provide to clients. The public site is undergoing changes to be a source of not just collaborative law services, but also showcase the expertise of CFLCW members. An email will be forthcoming with more details. Watch for it!

Nanette Karls, JD, a longtime Council member and currently serving on the CFLCW Board of Directors joined Forward Legal Services in Madison on April 1, 2026.

On January 21, 2026 at 12 Noon, CFLCW hosted a special Legislative Update Webinar. CFLCW Board members Tiffany Highstrom, JD and Jolene Schneider, JD summarized the actions taken by the Legislative in 2025 and discuss issues in the upcoming legislative floor period. Both Tiffany and Jolene are active in the Family Law Section and have testified before Legislative Committees on behalf of family law and the State Bar. CFLCW will apply for 1.0 continuing legal education credit for this session.

2025 Kathleen M. Baird Dolphin Award – Elisabeth Bach-Van Horn, JD

I want to thank George for giving me this opportunity to present this year’s Dolphin Award. After 15 years with CFLCW I know that good things don’t last forever and I always selfishly wanted to present at least one award!

In looking back at just the past chairs I have worked with it really is an amazing group of dedicated individuals starting with Greg Hildebrand in 2011. At our first lunch he looked at me and said, “OK what are we doing here?” CFLCW Chairs are always looking ahead, not back.

He was the first of many leaders. Nancy and Garrick, Janice and Rebecca, Megann and Jared, Christie and Grant, Robert and Liz and Dan, and now George. Many of them were to become deserving Dolphin recipients.

Some Past Chairs did their duty and “their turn” and some moved away from the organization – it is only natural.

This year, upon George’s initial suggestion, it was clear to me what a great choice he made.

This year’s recipient did not fade away. She has always – always – been the first to reply when I have solicited help from the Board, or the members, on any number of efforts. She was, and is, quiet and reserved but always “checking in” on whatever event or project the Council is working on.

Always asking How Can I Help?

The ironic thing is, just recently she said to me, after reaching out to any number of members about the value of attending today’s event, she said “I don’t think I have done enough.”

CFLCW has a father-son Chair & Dolphin recipient combo in Garrick and Grant Zielinski. This year it recognizes the quiet, methodical, and consistent dedication of someone that means we now have a father-daughter combo as Chair and Dolphin recipient as well.

It is my honor to present his award to Elisabeth Bach-Van Horn.
